Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Believe it or not this movie was given a 4.5 out of 5. Seems like critics enjoyed the movie. The movie starts of with Logan Lerman as Percy, son of a human mom named Sally (Catherine Keener) and the god Poseidon (Kevin McKidd). Poseidon's brother Zeus (Sean Bean) believes that Percy has stolen his lightning bolt, the world's most powerful weapon. If he doesn't get it back ASAP, the consequences will be dire.

Unfortunately, Percy doesn't have it. In fact, he has always believed he was just a regular kid. So his protector, Grover (Brandon T. Jackson), takes him to a camp for other young demigods, run by a centaur named Chiron (Pierce Brosnan). Here he learns about his legacy from Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario), daughter of the goddess Athena.

When Percy finds out his mom was kidnapped by Hades (Steve Coogan), he sneaks out of camp with Annabeth and Grover. Their goal is to rescue Sally from the underworld, but they'll have to face challenges like the snake-haired Medusa (Uma Thurman) first.

Nearly all the adults are outrageously hammy, a strategy that only really works for Coogan. And Craig Titley's screenplay simplifies Riordan's world to such a degree that you could almost imagine the movie as a syndicated TV series. But the kids are charming, their adventures fast-paced and the effects suitably loud and explosive. Although the movie is rated PG, it's not PG. It has lots of violence and sexual scenes which aren't sutied for kids under, say 14-15. Another postive thing this movie caused is more book sales for this particular movie. After people saw the movie they loved it so much they started buying the whole series of books. Looks like the Harry Potter series has some competition.

Teacher saves students from being shot!

A 32-year-old gunman was shooting kids randomly at Deer Creek Middle School just after classes had ended for the day. Then a teacher named David Benke saw the guy shooting at middle school kids randomly and jumped on top of the guy who was struggling to escape. Another teacher saw what was going on and helped out David. Both of them tackled down the gunman to the floor and asked him why he was doing this, what his motive was. The gunman didnt answer anything. The answers he did gave either didn't make sense or was just a stupid answer. After saving the kids David Benke was called a hero. A senator and Police Commisioner thanked him. Benke has a facebook page where he has 14,000 followers because he is mentioned as a hero.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100224/ap_on_re_us/us_colo_school_shooting;_ylt=Ak1zje_pc5F.M7ioMWKFM2oDW7oF;_ylu=X3oDMTJzazFjMTBvBGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMTAwMjI0L3VzX2NvbG9fc2Nob29sX3Nob290aW5nBHBvcwM1BHNlYwN5bl9hcnRpY2xlX3N1bW1hcnlfbGlzdARzbGsDdGVhY2hlcnRhY2ts

Terrorist planned to bomb subways but caught!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100222/ap_on_re_us/us_nyc_terrorA former airport shuttle driver accused of buying beauty supplies to make bombs for an attack on New York City subways pleaded guilty Monday, admitting he agreed to conduct an al-Qaida-led "martyrdom plan" because of U.S. involvement in his native Afghanistan. Before we go on a martyrdom plan is a plan where the terrorist believes when they die or commit suicide they are dying for there religion, in other words they are dying to save mankind or a certain religion for God's sake.  However the man who planned to do this named Najibullah Zazi by the way was sentenced to a life time in prison with a bail out of $50,000. Because of this now there are rumors that there will be secret government people in all trains for protection.

School Spies on students through the laptops provided to them.

The Lower Merion School District made the headlines in the newspaper. Why? Well they did something unusual that most sane schools don't do. However this insane school had teachers provide students with laptops from the school that had webcams to spy on the students. The webcam can take as many as 20 photos of who ever was using the laptop or was in the perimeter of the webcam. The spying plan was unveiled by a student. He claimed how the teachers told him why he misbehaved in a certain way at home, etc. However the superintendent said they have now abandoned this practice. Also the only reason they did this was because they had 40 or more missing laptops from the school and was using this system to prevent future robbery of school laptops.http://www.nbc-2.com/Global/story.asp?S=12029400

Man pulled from Haiti Earthquake Rubble After 4 Weeks!

This is a miraculous story about a man named Evan Muncie who was found under rubble four weeks after the earthqauke. How he survived no one knows. The only thing the victim said was a man with a white coat kept coming to him and giving him water to survive. Whats even more amazing is Muncie had no serious injuries on his body from staying under the rubble. Doctors say he suffers from dehydration and malnutrition. The victim's mother said she thought he was dead, but lived because God didn't want him to die. Now what I'm thinking is, could the man in the white coat who provided the earthqauke victim water be an angel? I'm not a very religous person but from this miracle, i just might be.http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201002091721610

LG Expo Projector Phone

AT&T has a new phone out that has a built in projector. It is called the LG Expo. Without its bulky projector pack, the Expo is a relatively slim sliding Windows Mobile 6.5 phone. It has a 1 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and LG's new S-Class user interface, which touches up Windows Mobile in a manner similar to the HTC TouchFLO and Samsung's TouchWiz. The Expo's QWERTY keyboard is excellent, well-spaced and clicky. There's a 5-megapixel camera on the back, but annoyingly no standard headphone jack. But you don't care about that much, do you? You care about the $179 projector attachment. The phone will cost $299, minus a $100 rebate, with a two-year contract; the projector costs an extra $179.

Twitter Forces Password Reset to Protect Some Accounts

Twitter is now forcing people to change there password because they have been getting hacked by hackers. a malicious hacker has been setting up file-sharing torrent sites that appear legitimate and then selling them to well-meaning buyers who want to own their own download site. Then after they buyers buy them the hacker uses it to find there email adress, password and username for twitter. So it is recommended that you change your password every month in my opinion, and be careful about what you buy and download of your computer.http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/188450/twitter_forces_password_reset_to_protect_some_accounts.html

Here I will list some of the advantages and disadvantages. Apple, is a worldwide seller, that sells more than just phones. They sell music players, GPS, headphones, and every other little electronics that you can think of. Google which is also known worldwide, has recently just started selling there own phones.
